Sleep has never been one of my strong points, I usually don’t get to sleep until 1 or 2 in the morning and then wake at about 6:30 for work and the sleep that I get in those few hours can be very varied.
In the last week or so, however I seem have changed my pattern, I am getting to sleep around midnight but waking around 5 or this morning 4.
In general I am feeling quite confused about various things at the moment and I don’t think this is helping me sleep.

I’ve had sleep hassles for many years in the past - though these days now that my life’s sorting itself out, they are pretty much behind me. but I understand how you feel.
There are two things you could try - if you haven’t already.
1. Night Time - a herbal tea you can find in Holland & Barrett. Take with a spoon of honey about half an hour before bedtime. usually knocks me out good and proper.
2. A sleep-enducing binaural beat. Not easy to make on the mac, but there is one app out there (sbagen). On a PC BWgen is the best with many presets ( I could send you some BWgen binaurals on CD if you want). Both jEN & I have used Binaurals for a variety of reasons, they are damn cool. Even if they do not help to get you off to sleep, there are programs that can give you a 30-40 minute power sleep that feels like you’ve had a damn good restful nap.

I second the recommendation on binaurals. I could forward some info on what I found out about them (I bookmarked some stuff when I was learning about them) and could slap a few tracks on my iDisk for you should you want more immediate investigations.
I still owe you some yoga stuff don’t I? Damn ADD… I need to start listening to my binaurals for that too again!
I also bought some CDs with binaurals behind music. They’re pretty cool too. I got Aaron interested in them and he listens to a few tracks very regularly and finds positive results within himself.
smooches of luck~

Hi nellus & jEN
the binaurals stuff sounds interesting, excuse the paronomasia. Any info you have would be welcomed, I like the iDisk idea, hint, hint
As well as learning to sleep I also need to learn to relax, being lazy is not the same as relaxing I have discovered so Yoga is worth a try.

Try one of the products here:
http://www.transparentcorp.com/
Much better than bwgen. Bwgen only does binaural beats. Binaural beats are the weakest form of brainwave entrainment. The products at transparentcorp use binaural beats in combination with other, more effective brainwave entrainment methods.
