Good Read. I also got lost for the first (and I think only time) in Woolies in Bath. I think on another time it was where I contracted whooping cough (or so my Mother says)

I have a copy Oliver Postgate’s Autobiography which I plan to start reading soon. I also have two Clangers that sit on my fireplace but I hope will top off my Christmas tree this year.

The passing of Oliver Postgate and the final death throes of Woolies all in one week. They certainly tug at the childhood memories. Woolworths for me is more a memory of buying 7″ singles and blanks cassettes and stationary when very young together with the pick ‘n’ mix sweets. Will only the supermarkets be left standing after devouring everyone else?

hey Kev,
Thanks for the RANT. Unfortunately, the world is full of shallow bigots.. I still love Christmas and Rudolph. I watched it every year on TV as a kid, and now sit with my kids when they watch it on DVD, then sing the song a couple of times a day. As to Frosty, I never thought it was as good as Rudolph, but that’s just me.

Um… that is the most awesome tree evah.
Well, second most awesome. My grandparents had one years ago that looked like it was made of aluminium foil strips. It was unbelievably sparkly when you put lights on it, but it was worrying because the bulbs made the tree hot.
